Chipset: AR928X welcher treiber... Frage

Hallo,

ich möchte mit meinem neuen Laptop gerne ein Wlan öffnen habe aber das Problem das das Programm NETWORK STUMBLER eine Fehlermeldung bringt.

"No Wireless Adapter found"

Meine Daten:
NetStumbler v0.4.0

Laptap von ASUS PRO55S
Betriebssystem: Vista Premium
Netwerkadapter Atheros 928X
SiS191 Ethernet Controller

Kann das Funktionieren ?
welchen treiber muss ich dazu Installieren ?

Du solltest du schon die richtigen Programme für dein vorhaben verwenden


guck erstmal wozu NetStumbler gut is und überleg dann, ob das deinem Vorhaben hilfreich ist.

Ich habe dieses "no wireless Adapter" Problem bei verschiedenen Programmen und deshalb komme ich nicht weiter.

Habe schon gelesen das einige Netzwerkkarten nicht monitoring fähig sind. Nun bin ich nicht sicher ob mein Notebook das kann oder nicht.

Der Netzwerkadapter funktioniert da ich damit auch ins Internet(W-LAN) komme.


Vielleicht braucht es nur einen Treiber ?

Du müsstest mal feststellen, was das für ein Chipsatz ist.
Falls es AR5001, AR5002, AR5004, AR5005, AR5006 oder AR5008 ist, gib doch mal in Google "atheros wildpackets" ein.

hallo,

leider konnte ich nicht feststellen welcher chipsatz auf der Netzwerkarte verbaut ist. Auch mit einem tool wie SIW kann ich keinen chipsatz entdecken.

Was ist nun das passende Wildpack ?

OK Chipsatz ist gefunden, nur will ich nicht irgendwelche experimente mit dem Treiber veranstallten. Gibt es einen Treiber der wirklich mit dem chipsatz gut funktioniert ? Falls ja bitte den Link zum treiber notieren. Danke.

Notes: Works with ath9k driver in 2.6.27, but performance is sub-standard (on Fujitsu u820). Injection does not work. Monitor mode is easily enabled, but sensitivity is low, sees one AP in a location where IPW3945 w/IPWRAW driver (in a Lenovo r61) seems 25+.

Notes: Works on ubuntu 8.10 as a driver in linux kernel 2.6.27, but de-associate within minutes and can't connect any access points anymore. Have to rmmod and then modprobe to make it work, but most of the time creates a kernel panic when modprobing ... Sensitivity normal. What's more it seems partially fixed with todays release ! (december 27th 2008)
